What is your view? Our last AP managed a get a couple by forgetting to pay parking charges in a car park, and by parking all day (contrary to clearly marked restrictions) on a road next to a tube station. She paid up immediately.

Current AP has been much better - a whole year with no problems. On her last morning she parked with a wheel on the pavement and collected a £50 fine. I didn't say she had to pay it, and gave her the last weeks money and also instead of an extra £100, I gave her £70 (she had been with us a year). I think that is pretty reasonable, but just wandered what others do re fines...want to set out the rules clearly for the next AP!

Thanks.

I don't have an AP but used to run a fleet of company cars, we had written into their contracts that any fines incurred while they were driving were to be paid by them, I woudl do the same if I did have an AP. They must comply with the law and if they incur a fine by not doing so then I would expect them to pay.

write it into your contract that any parking fines are to be paid by your AP.

Goes in the contract. Any fines are paid by the driver of the car, ditto speeding etc.

They pay, it's in the contract

They do the crime, they do the time (or pay the fine). Pay it for them and they will keep offending.

i have had one a few parking tickets in nearly 20years of driving but not in works car

but it is easy to get one even if you can read signs easily in english and put money in car parks etc

so i would pay the 1st one but have written in contract that you wont pay others

tho it will be an exspenisve lesson to her as most are £50+ so almost a weeks salary for an ap

parking with a wheel on pavement does happen and seems mean to get a fine
