CM - how much per hour for after-school care?

A lovely neighbour has looked after my DD for an hour and half after school once a week for the last four weeks, as I have been doing extra hours on a temporary basis.

She's picked her up from school, given her a snack, and then DD has played with her DCs until DH picks her up at about 5pm.

What would have been the going rate for childminding after school in the SE? (I'm in Hants)

I'd like to get her some vouchers to say thank you, and I'd like these to reflect what it would have cost me had I had to seek out a CM for just four weeks.

I would charge perhaps £5 for each session, depending so say £20 for the 4 weeks

Not in hants, in the SW so I am probably cheaper

Thanks a lot! I was assuming that it would be a lot more than this.

Sorry for the delay in replying; I haven't been on all day.

Some childminders may charge a per-session fee, which could be £10-£15 per time in North Hampshire / West Surrey area.

Your neighbour isn't expecting anything in return, so you don't need to be giving her the same amount as you would have paid a CM.
So a voucher for £25, £30 something like that I'm sure would be appreciated.

Thanks, Nick. Forty quid in Boden vouchers it is, then. I'd hate a friend and neighbour to think that I was taking her for granted. We have each other's DCs all the time, but I'm aware that a regular commitment, even if it's only for four weeks, is quite a big ask.

It means a huge amount to me that as far as DD (5) is concerned, she has just had four rather nice playdates and hasn't been aware that her DM has been absent for rather a lot longer than usual!

I'm in Reading, Berks and I charge £4.30ph after school (although I'm a min of 2 hours booking).
