what to do with school aged kids

what do you do - looking to have two boys every day after school - what to do with them? do you plan activities for just let them get on with it. do you put out toys/activities or not. do you thinking its ok to have a playroom only for the really big toys ie. den, kitchen and food things like that upstairs and board games/arts and crafts downstairs. all views appriciated. thanks.

Yeah I have stuff out depending on what they like who's coming etc, I do have a big kids room, but they inevitably end up playing with the little ones, it's a bit of a waste actually, thinking of re-asigning it.
