We have just said goodbye to our childminder of the last 4 years. I found her when DS1 started secondary school and DS2 was in year 5. I want to buy her something, because she has been fabulous, but I've no idea what! Any suggestions?

how lovely, yes I agree wine or chocolates and maybe a card from your children maybe reminding her of a funny incident or happening(there will have been one) while with her. what a nice Mum you sound..

Bake some heart shaped biscuits or something similar with your children to give to her. Two of my babysitting mindees gave me tiny models they made out of plasticine the other day, it was really lovely, presents don't have to be much sometimes, less is more and all that!

How much do you want to spend? When dd left her childminder after 4 years, we bought her a digital photoframe. I preloaded a photo card with a few photos of DD and the childminder's children which I had taken at a picnic.

She absolutely loved it.
