I want to do it I really do, but most of it is total dross. Can't I just have a nap, I'm very tired and a bit poorly today

Just do one small section at a time - set yourself a time limit and have a 'reward' for yourself at the end of it.

The SEF is soooo repetitive and I was told by my inspector if something x-ref's to another section its ok to put - see section xxx instead of repeating yourself.

See the SEF as an opportunity to 'sell yourself'

I'm the same, I haven't looked at it this year and really need to but like you the minute I get the laptop out i'm on fb and here.

well I am not doing it.. told Ofsted inspector that I hadnt got time and showed her lots of self assessment I had done with parents and improvements I had made to my practise.

Its not compulsary so in theory you cant be marked down for not doing it.. I got a good.. maybe I would have got outstanding but I really dont care that much.. I am full, with a waiting list, so I must be doing something right.

I think all cms should boycott sef until its tailored for our setting anyway..as it stands its a pile of repetative crap and I aint got time.. wine anyone!!

Like the body, I dont do it, all it does is repaeat itself, from the one look I had at it, and I dont have the time.

Didnt do it last inspection and got an outstanding, so it dosnt seem to matter that much.

well said Shoshe

I did our preschool SEF and nearly died of boredom. We are in the process of re-registering due to a major change and at the registration meeting the Ofsted inspector said that just a page listing strengths, weaknesses and an action plan for improvements would cover it all anyway - wish I'd known that before

I need some motivation to do the daily diaries this evening - I'm on MN instead, I've even looked for new cars (no money) and passport info (no impending holiday), that's one serious lack of motivation!!

lol lollipop!

I don't mind doing once I get going I'm fine but it's the getting going I hate. I want to do it, as I'm new it will be good to reflect a little. But napping and mumsnetting is much more fun!

Just got back from having a Mexican MMMMM
