Good Conduct Certificate - anybody know about this?

I am trying to recruit a sole charge nanny, and have some nice candidates from Eastern Europe. I spoke to the CRB about police checks/ disclosure for people from these countries, and was told that they should ask their embassies for a "Good Conduct Certificate". Anybody heard of these, or seen one? Any idea how long they take to obtain and what they cover?

I know the British embassy will provide them for UK residents who want to teach overseas.

You should be able to ring/e-mail an embassy and ask them about it/what it covers and who does the checking and what sort of legal status it has. For instance, will all convictions and warnings be disclosed or ony certain types?
