I have been caring for a mindee for the last few years, she is due to start preschool soon and pick up times clash with picking my own children up. Parents have suggested picking mindee up 40 mins early from preschool, but I feel this is unfair on the child. So i've made a very difficult decesion to have to give notice. I have done serveral drafts but they don't sound right. Any advice on the wording, I need it to be really nice as they are great people.

Thanks

hi saz

I used to be a writer in my previous life. I'd be happy to look over a letter for you. If you'd like me to do that, let me know and I'll send you my email address.

Maybe they know someone else who goes to the pre school who could bring their child to you at the end of the session? Sorry ... no suggestions about a tactful way to word this, but hopefully they will see that you have their child's best interests at heart.

If the parents would prefer her to miss 40 mins of preschool to remain with you - do you really need to give them notice?

I am sure there would be someone who could either pick up your children or the mindee and drop them at yours for a small fee...

It seems a shame to make her go to someone she doesn't know, esp when she's starting preschool

Or are you just ready to only have your own children to look after??

Thanks for the msgs. I'm most likely giving up childminding after the summer hols to go back to work full time so it's alittle of both spending after school time with my kids, but also it's the thought of doing 3/4 pickups in the space of 1 hour it's n ot fair on everyone. I did give notice last nite and parent is fully supportive.
