Last Inspection was 3 years ago beginning of January so I am well overdue

Now I am catastrophising that Ofsted will want to come next week when it is frankly MADNESS what with my chaps the after schoolie coming all day plus my normal mindees

plus we have days out planned

[dramatic face]

tell them (if they ring!) that you have plans all week and are out!

[relieved as all blazers that my next inspection is due in 2yrs 4 months emoticon]

BoysAreLikeDogs · 10/02/2010 18:57

can I say that? I am petrified it will look bad.

Nowt to hide; I am READY hurrah but I can't possibly cope with an Inspector and half term

They tried to do that to me in the Summmer holidays a few years back ... and then came in November!

Do you have caller display? If the number is withheld let it go to answerphone!!!! They won't turn up without checking you're going to be in first, In our area they have recently been giving little or no notice - ringing in the morning to see if you are in and then turning up the same day! Oh joy!

Also, although it is not an exact science, look at some inspection reports on the Ofsted website for your area to try and guage exactly how far behind they are runnng.

Tell them you're on holiday!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 10/02/2010 20:07

arf at tell them I'm on holiday !!

There have been only 5 inspections in my area since new year, 4 newbies and one old hand (who was due in march according to the 3 year thing)

gawd no caller display

Not read all posts but just wanted to say, had inspection in March 09. She wanted to come in February half term and I politely refused. I apologised but said I was not willing to stay in with the children as they are used to having action packed days in our school hols and we are often out and that is what I'm paid to do. I said it would be unfair on the children to miss out because of an inspection which could very easily be delayed by a week. She understood and came a couple of weeks later (I had week after half term off!). Oh, and she didn't hold it against me as I did well so I'd just say I have plans now. In fact, you could say that you've sat down with the children and chatted about options for outings etc. and you've, as a group, put this together and that would be VERY unfair to mess up the 'children's' plans

Good luck
