Thought I might just open the staff room again, just to see if anyone wants a coffee and cake while the Littlies sleep

I'll pop in for a cuppa, my mindee has just gone home. He comes from 8-1pm, today was his first day without his mum and it was EXCELLENT, I'm buzzing at having found such a suitable match as he fits in really nicely with my DD and I know that he'd fit in perfectly with any other child I have here too.

So this cake, I hope it isn't chocolate, I've given all chocolate up for a year, for my NY resolution.

Shoshe · 01/02/2010 13:56

Lolli, I am back on a diet so no choc here either, one of mine has just gone, and about to get the other up to go pick her sister up from Pre School.

We used to have a daily staff room before so welcome in

I like the idea of mindees going to sleep, I haven't managed it yet though. Today I thought that my mindee wasn't at all tired, he didn't show any signs at all even though DD went up to bed. His mum text me a couple of minutes after leaving saying that she could hear snoring coming from behind her - she was carrying him in a backpack, they only live 5 minutes away!!

looneytune · 01/02/2010 14:22

Oh yum, thanks, I'll have that after my sarnie

Well I've had 5 little ones with snotty noses today so that's all good fun lol. One gone home now and other 4 in bed so enjoying a bit of peace

dmo · 01/02/2010 14:27

i have one very snotty baby today spent most of the day on my knee

looneytune · 01/02/2010 14:36

dmo - bless them. My 5 are ages 1-2 yrs so no babies and luckily they were ok in themselves (just the usual behaviour issues that go with them being unwell! ;-)

Lollipop - sorry, was in such a rush to eat that I didn't mention anything about your new mindee. Pleased went well, it's always great when they just fit in perfectly

nannynick · 01/02/2010 15:28

Oh it's not a chocolate cake, it's the lovely Blueberry and Lemon Drizzle cake by MyDaddyCooks. It really is nice.

RosieGirl · 01/02/2010 15:46

Hello everyone - multiple snotty noses here, constant drizzle or fingers up noses, coughing into their lunch, sneezing over everyone else, good job I've got a cold too.

Also trying to cut back so I don't have to buy the next size up although just looking at all the snot puts me off my food!!

lollipopmother · 01/02/2010 16:21

What is it with the snottiness, my mindee has a disgustingly snotty nose so that he can hardly breathe through it, my house stinks of Carvol in the attempt to get him a bit of air in! And my DD has been ill today too, I think she must be teething as one cheek was puce yesterday and burning hot, today she slept for ages and not at her usual time, two doses of calpol in and she's just decided that she can get off my lap (God help me if I had had to watch another episode of ITNG I would've screamed!)

Rosiegirl - I'm desperately trying to lose the stone I put on at Xmas, think I've lost about a pound in a month, it's not going so well!

Loony - This mindee has taught me that I definitely should consider exactly how the child gets on with everyone else, I look after a girl once a week that is very hard work to get on with because she doesn't like to share anything and is extremely possessive of everything, I can see that my DD is a bit put off by her, shame really as she can be a lovely girl and she's only 2y/o so it's not her fault, but her behaviour does make it hard to do a lot of activities or even for my DD to play in the same room as her

lollipopmother · 01/02/2010 16:29

Nick that video is brilliant, it's made me laugh out loud, your son is a real gem! How old is he? The oldest that I look after atm is 26 months but she's not even close to being able to do this yet, shame as I feel very inspired to do some baking with them all now!

nannynick · 01/02/2010 16:53

Archie (age 2yrs 3 months I think - about that) is not my son. Though I do share the same first name as his dad
Here is Nick's Introduction

lollipopmother · 01/02/2010 16:57

Ooops, I thought I saw on the blog bit that he was your son, sorry!

nannynick · 01/02/2010 17:02

Archie is the Blog owners son. The blog is not mine... it's MyDaddyCooks' blog... MyDaddyCooks is also called Nick.

Gets rather confusing doesn't it

lollipopmother · 01/02/2010 17:33

Oh I seeeeee, so that's not you in the video?!

nannynick · 01/02/2010 17:53

No, I was just linking to a recipe!

SnapDragons · 01/02/2010 22:06

I haven't been in the staffroom for a while

Is there any cake left?

lollipopmother · 01/02/2010 22:34

You can have my bit, it's a bit dry since I've left it out all day!
