Hey all, big sighs of relief here as very lovely Ofsted lady has been and gone, so all the worry is over.

She was very supportive, it was one of those mornings, but she was positive about it all and nice about everything.

And apparently I'm not allowed to say the grade (is anyone?) as it has to be quality assured but I'm very pleased.

So, thank you everyone for all the advice and support, which seems to have paid off.

Well done! I'm glad it went well for you, definitely celebrate with some chocolate, FAR more enjoyable than clothes and far less hassle!

Thanks everyone, I was sooo nervous beforehand (as was probably obvious from my increasingly desperate posts!) but she really put me at my ease. Oh and she ended up with my little DS sitting on her knee playing with her laptop - very cute and not at all my impression of what 'Ofsted' would be like!

childmindermk there are loads of inspectors, even in our area, so I doubt you'd get the same one, but a few things that helped me were - I remembered to ask for her ID as she arrived, got her to sign my visitors book and had all my files, risk assessments, cleaning rotas, fire logs, planning, observations, children's portfolio's etc ready for her, which I think made a good 1st impression.

She had read my SEF and thanked me for spending so long on it, so it was worth putting all the effort into it, (I know I wasn't saying that at the time!) and she said she'd use examples from that in her report.

Oh and she was fine with baby sleeping in buggy, I explained why, that parents were happy with it and that I have a travel cot in case her sleeping needs change and she said it was good I'd thought ahead and made provision for differing needs. So I did get the feeling that as long as I could justify my decisions then it would've been ok.

ummmm... trying to think of anything thats general advice... can't think of anything, but if there's anything you can think of to ask then let me know!
