I don't usually post on cms, nannies, aupairs etc board, but I just found the BEST childminder and needed tell people! And she's close to my work. Her references (compared to other cms I've checked) were absolutely glowing, they could not stop talking about how wonderful she is!! Her home is SUPER CLEAN and all set up for kids - she doesn't have her own kids and just adores children. She is so nice and so creative and lovely. I got the best feeling walking into her house the first time. We haven't even started yet but I just know this is going to work out well. I visited a lot of cms and nurseries, too.
I actually can't believe my luck!!

Good news. I looooove my CM, my oldest DD has been going there for 5.5 years and it's been great. It's my DD1's birthday today (she was a baby just yesterday, when did she get to be 6? ) and I know she'll get a birthday cake and present after school from my CM.

It makes such a difference, knowing the children love being with her when I'm at work. Sometimes my children moan about being at home in the holidays, and wish they were at the CM's as there are loads fo other children there to play with.

And I do tell her, often, how much I appreciate her, and thank her every night when I pick the children up (and I've noticed 4-yo DD2 saying thank you now too ).

dogonwheels · 26/01/2010 11:09

ah, no it's a bit far thanks...

chocolaterabbit · 26/01/2010 15:35

Well done. I've found a lovely CM too who I really really do appreciate. I hurt my knee on saturday and finally got to see a dr yesterday who sent me onto hospital (torn ligament). CM had DS (3mo) as well as DD for 2 hours while I was at the hospital and at very short notice.

I have thanked her profusely.

A good CM / nanny can make such a difference.

Just wanted to update - we have started with her and she is truly amazing. DS adores her and settled in almost immediately. I went with my instinct and so glad I did. She is perfect for him. And she has much much more energy than I do and loves to go outside, let him splash in puddles...etc. He's very busy every day and just seems to love it. I'm so happy I didn't decide to go for nursery. This is truly wonderful

Fabulous. Really hoping that my daughter and I will have a similarly wonderful experience in June.
