Do I need any qualifications/ofstead registration to do this job?

Hi all,

Looking for a bit of advice really. I responded to an advert looking for a someone to help look after a baby for 4 hours a day, 3 days a week in the families home. I would be able to take my DD with me which is one of the factors that attracted me to the job - it is pretty low wage but I have really missed having my own money since having my DD so thought that would be fine and I am still able to be with her which is a big bonus, as well as getting to look after a wee one again. However, I am a bit worried whether I need to be ofstead register or not? How tax would work etc? Prospective employers haven't answered these questions yet so just looking for a bit of guidance really.

I would be very grateful for any guidance.

No registration required, as you are providing care in the child's own home.
Parents will be your employer, so would need to operate Simplified PAYE or full PAYE depending how much you will be earning.
