I'm so fed up with this now that I've just phoned NCMA demanding to know what they are doing about this for their members. The latest.........they are working 'with' them and aim to have it totally sorted by 31st Jan!!!

Does anyone know when these problems first started? Trying to work out how long it's been going on for!

Well, you can't use it to search for Home Childcarers. The only way to find me is if you search for me by name. I am listed however though many details are still missing, even though I have recently completed a form sent to me by SurreyCC checking the information I wanted listed. I am being listed under the wrong postcode - listing is under my primary work location, rather than my home location. This I think is due to data coming from the Ofsted system, which records my primary work location as being the Registered address.

To find out when this all first started, track back through my posts on the subject. I think the old childcarelink system was disconnected 1st October 2009. So we are now in month 3.

PKDH Support: Latest News - This is designed for LA's and Data Users but can at times be interesting reading to find out what the latest developments are. For example, it says that where information is provided by Ofsted, the LA can not remove that data, though some data may be able to be prevented from displaying.

Problems with data held by your LA not appearing on the database need to be taken up with your LA. So moaning to NCMA is a good start, though also moan to your LA as well, as they have the duty to upload the data.

Cheers Nick. Our LA have actually been pretty good at dealing with all of this. They dealt with all my problems but the latest one they said they can't do anything about and that's when they gave me the dcsf email address I needed and THEY are ignoring me.

My postcode problem was sorted a while ago but the problem now is if you put my postcode in and click search I appear AS LONG AS YOU DON'T TICK 'CHILDMINDERS' so if someone DOES tick childminder (which lets face it, if they want one they should tick this), they won't get me listed. Can't work out why as the code under my name IS for childminders???

All a bit odd and VERY frustrating. I only contacted the NCMA because my LA can no longer help me and because the DCSF are ignoring me.

& they refuse to accept I have a dual registration........

looneytune · 19/01/2010 17:26

Interesting...........I emailed earlier saying I was getting ready to get LEGAL ADVICE on this matter and guess what.......all of a sudden the 'tick boxes' have disappeared!!!

Now I appear and so should many others who had the same problem. About time. Why oh why did I have to threaten them before they'd listen!!!!

(pardon my french)

I and the other god knows how many CM's within the 20 miles of my home dont exsist according to the site! Actually none of the Day Nurseries, pre schools creches or after school clubs either.

You could find me by name at one point, but I was only down as after school care, but I have disappered completely now.

Everytime I phone Sure start they start by saying they dont know anything about it (I put my first contact with sure start about it, in another thread ages ago)

Nothing was done, have called half a dozen times since, either they say they dont know anything babout it, or say phone your local FIS for a list (lot of good if you live in another country) which a lot of my potential clients do.

Parents here have no chance of finding any childcare, and nobody seems to be doing anything about it.

If any other profession had their main source of advertisement taken away, there would be a huge outcry.

Problems? Do you call not getting any calls about work for the last 2 months problems? Unbelievable! I am on there, but some screens say I have vacancies and others say I have none. One says my hourly rates and the other says I have not provided them. Am I easy to find? NO! Could I find it through a simple google search? NO! Is it easy to find, even if you know where to look? NO!

I am thrilled with it

onadayliketoday · 19/01/2010 22:29

It didn't list me. I took it up with my LA who were helpful and checked it out. They said I had been on there when the uploaded everyone before Christmas. There was no apparent reason why. I tried to find my details without and with ticking any boxes,(so it wasn't the problem described above where you have to search without ticking for childminders), and both via my full postcode and again with just the first part. Nothing there. My LA contacted DCSF and they "did another save" and I magically appeared. I now check every few days to make sure I'm there, and i have been so far. There could be others who are missing but they won't know unless they check it.

The odd thing is if I do a search using my full postcode it says I'm a mile from there. I sippose that's the smallest distance it can show.

Snooch · 20/01/2010 12:43

Like BoysAreLikeDogs, I am apparently also not Ofsted registered. Nor have I any vacancies. In fact, the only information offered is my phone number and postcode.

Am so desperate to fill my vacancies

Am really over how long this has gone on for.

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHH.

Shoshe · 20/01/2010 13:05

just phoned them again, to be told it is because I never sent in the questionaire (have sent in two) and havnt had a review with them since August 2007!

Yet they have my new address and phone number from when I moved a year ago! They phoned me in November to check if any of my details had changed, and I have phoned them about the problem every month!!!!!!! And at one time I was on there by name, even if it didnt have any deatils about me!!!

Oh and what about the other 4 CM's on the Army Camp I live on, they never sent there's back either apparently!

One was sat next to me, at the time of phoning and was livid as has sent back 3!

Two of the others thay have no record of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yet again they have promised me they will sort it, I DONT BELIEVE THEM!

navyeyelasH · 20/01/2010 14:54

I'm listed but I'm the 50 something result for my postcide - this is because my postcode isn't on my listing!!

Family Info Services say, "As you have noted, 'places' is not currently being filled, and it is only possible to put your address as 'Henleaze'."

I don't even live in Henleaze!!!
