Overnight stay - how much to pay babysitter?

Our lovely babysitter gets £8 per hour. I want to ask if she'd look after the kids (2 under 5) from lunchtime one Sat till lunchtime the next day so we can have a one-in-a-blue-moon night away, but not sure how much to offer.

Can anyone give me a rough idea? Is it the hourly rate for 24 hours - or £8 for waking hours and a set amount (£30? £50?) overnight?

I would say £8 for waking hours plus £30 for the overnight is fair. But waking hours are her waking hours, not the children's. So, say £8 until about 10:00pm. If your children are likely to get up in the night then I'd say maybe more than £30.
