I have 4 files;

  1. Unique Child
  2. Positive Relationships
  3. Enabling Environments
  4. Learning & Development

Where do I file my polices and procedures and consent forms?

Am torn between 1.UC & 2.PR. Oh the drama of my life right now.

yikes my files are a bit random, viz:

policies/procedures/insurance/misc so loads like poisionous plants, inf illnesses and exclusion times, fire drill record and FA kit ticklist

one for each child

one called 'what is it like for a child here' with pics and text

risk assessments

one for working with parents

one for child records, contracts, contact details, SEF, that kind of thing

All stuffed in a lockable thingie

BoysAreLikeDogs · 09/01/2010 22:58

oh also I keep out my EYFS folder that we all got, with the disc and cards and book in

Katymac · 09/01/2010 23:04

& I don't have anything like that at all

BoysAreLikeDogs · 09/01/2010 23:14

how is your paperwork filed katy?

mine sort of evolved organically this way

Katymac · 09/01/2010 23:20

I have a folder:
for each child with EYFS evidence
for each child with contract, permissions, invoices etc
with signing in sheets/visitors book/staff time sheets/nursery signing in sheet (for funding)/fire drills
risk assessments/reflective practise
SEF Parents stuff so OFSTED/car ins & MOT/CRBs/training
*EYFS stuff like contact with settings/evidence of stuff for OFSTED

I think - but it is late & I am unhappy

navyeyelasH · 09/01/2010 23:29

I'm a filing freak, I have separate folder for each child with the child record form, contracts, observations and art work.

But the rest I arrange as per EYFS. Probably easier for me tho as new to childminding rather than having to reorganise it all once it was introduced.

But if you had to pick a category it went into what would you say. I'm leaning more towards Unique child now for definite.

God I am pathetic! Right off to bed. Katy sorry you are unhappy? Anything I can do to help give me a shout x

BoysAreLikeDogs · 09/01/2010 23:41

oh sweetheart

I recall DH had a terrible time before they established what his illness was, yes? Anti bs on drips and suchlike?

have the hospital formulated a treatment plan? I guess that it's better that you know now than later

[hug]

Katymac · 09/01/2010 23:45

If she has what they think then he hasn't got what they are treating him for

& it's all crap and not fair

BoysAreLikeDogs · 09/01/2010 23:50

I've got to go to bed but I'll be thinking of you x x x

Katymac · 09/01/2010 23:52

alibubbles · 10/01/2010 06:31

Katymac, I've not been around for ages, sorry to hear DD is not well, hope things look up soon.

I'm going to asking you for some help soon if not too much of a problem, I didn't keep a copy when we talked through on the phone and now beginning to panic!

Ofsted phoned me christmas eve, but I was in Bali!

Katymac · 10/01/2010 08:25

No problem

(BTW I'm a bit better this am)

HSMM · 10/01/2010 13:33

Katy - keep strong

Navyeyelash - I have a file for each child and then a file with everything else - risk assessments, EYFS, training certificates, policies, etc.

navyeyelasH · 10/01/2010 15:31

I can't just file it in with everything else I wont be able to sleep at night [pathetic!]

Going to put it in with Unique child.

KatyMac glad you're feeling better today x
