I've just got my first client - woooop - lets talk contracts!

I'm totally shocked, I really thought they wouldn't like me after the crummy first meet we had!

Anyway, it seems that I've made a bit of a boo-boo as they think the fee that I'm charging them to hold the space is a deposit rather than a holding fee - they think they're going to be able to put that money towards their first month once their LO comes to me, but that's not what I meant. Unfortunately I didn't have the balls to say no, but never mind, lesson learned I suppose.

Anyway, what I really came on to ask (rather than just to gloat!) was what do I do with the NCMA contracts? They're very unspecific don't you think? Can I add my own terms to them as well or do I just fill in the boxes and that's it?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Isn't there a space on page 2 to write any other details on? This is where I fill in any extras or complications. If it doesn't cover you properly you can always write your own.

Hi I typed an extra sheet as I found the space on page 2 too small for my bad handwriting. NCMA said this was OK as long as it was signed and dated by you and the parent.

That's a good idea, thank you! I did see the small box and just assumed that it was for something else as it's pretty small!

I have an extra page or six with little bits on

lollipopmother · 06/01/2010 22:16

Hahaha Katy! I don't blame you though, if it's all written down then it's easier for everyone.

I just realised I haven't shown the family my policies on paper, I've just talked them through, damn it! God I'm poor at this!

CAT me I'll send you a copy - you can wiggle it a bit

lollipopmother · 06/01/2010 22:20

I haven't got CAT unfortunately as I'm too cheapskate don't think I'll get good value for money from it! Thank you for the offer though Katy, would you email it if I gave my address?

Dont forget to discuss holiday pay/bank holiday pay etc with parent!! (Have a look at (v. long) previous thread re holiday pay)

lollipopmother · 07/01/2010 10:44

Thanks Katy I will, just taken a peek at your website and it's very nice! It's also just reminded me that I should update my profile on here to include my website address, seeing as I spent so long trying to make it I really should encourage people to look at it!
