For ages I had a mountain of paper work. Due to a working less hours and also taking time off I feel I am conquering the mountain.

Its a GREAT FEELING!!!

How are yo managing?

yes, know the feeling but it is sad that when we have a break we still have to work!

SillyMillysMummy · 05/01/2010 13:07

Are you on top of your paperwork ....... NO

Numberfour · 05/01/2010 13:44

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

[blooooooooody paperwork]

LisaD1 · 05/01/2010 13:45

Me neither!

I don't know exactly when we're supposed to get the time? I'm currently having a 20min break while the kids are asleep, to have a bit of lunch and a quick MN fix, then I need to wash up from the casserole lunch they had, tidy the lounge from the arts and crafts session we just did and then think about what to make for their dinner/they'll be awake/we need to collect my eldest from school. I will also need to write up the daily diary and no doubt deal with at least one tantrum in between.

Not sure where/how all this paperwork is meant to fit in!

I'm a newbie CMer, what paperwork will I have to do on a day to day basis is it observations? Then review everything else regularly?

Katymac · 05/01/2010 18:34

Written risk assessments
Written policies/procedures (well CM don't apparently but try passing your inspection without them)
Newsletters/menus/permission slips
Observations & written planning & evaluations of your plans
Photos
Daily diaries
Letters to parents
Stuff from OFSTED/Early Years Team/NCMA to read & learn from
Recording food temps/fridge temps - again not technically required by OFSTED but needed for food hygiene reasons
Medication paperwork
Accident/incident reports

Umm

Invoices
Accounts

That's it......I think?

I return to work tomorrow, during my time off i've caught up with the lj's and did the progess reviews, today spent the day on other paperwork, general filing and planning. So i'm all caught up but not for long

No where near, promised to do some over the xmas holidays.........................

Inspection looming in the next six months, helping out a parent who has changed working hours, so will be starting at 7am (instead of 7.30am) to 6pm - have absolutely no idea when I will ever catch up soooooooo much to do feeling a little overwhelmed by it all .

atworknotworking · 05/01/2010 19:01

BoysAreLikeDogs · 05/01/2010 19:12

TheIronLady · 05/01/2010 20:32

I never seem to catch up, I did a little over the xmas break but needed a break big time, feel so overwhelmed by all the paperwork.

Mindee not in today so decided to start my SEF, sat there for an hour and just looked at it, my mind is just blank, what is the matter with me? Christ, I really need to pull myself together as have inspection later this month.

Completed one review, half done another, another two to do.

Planning on paper, whats that...

I think I am cracking up. Great start to the new year!

Thanks to everyone.

NAVYEYELASH If you need some advice just let us know. I am sure the other childminders can give you some advice toO.

As it snowed today my four kids are not at school. As i had no childminded kids this morning I was able to give my kids more attention. I even played monopoly with three of them. I am even going to sit down and watch a dvd if possible. This afternoon I may have one minded child for a short time.

I will try to do some more paper work today. ie catching up with the register, sorting out my account book etc, etc.
