direct.gov website seems to have more content?

I'm really cross as whoever is responsible for the direct.gov fiasco!

It seems more entries have been made onto the site so at least I am listed now. However when you search for my postcode I am the 79th result - because they have entered my address as the wrong area and haven't listed a postcode.

Also it doesn't say I have vacancies when I have taken the time and effort to notify FIS that I do have vacancies.

So bloody annoying that they can not get a single thing right and don't even get me started on the actual website what moron designed it?

[breathe].

FIS maintain it's not their fault so just who do I complain to?

The site is crap and not just for childminders.

Jobseekers also now have to use that site instead of the jobcentre plus one and it is a load of rubbish. If I search for jobs within 2 miles my postcode, I get jobs from all over the country.

There wasn't anything wrong with the jobcentre plus site at all.

Best to contact your local MP and request that they ask questions of Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families the Rt Hon Ed Balls MP.

The situation seems to partly down to local authorities being allowed to use whatever contractor they liked to upload data to the main system developed by Tribal Group PLC. A currently undisclosed number of local authorities failed to upload the data by the required date and work is still continuing to get the data uploaded.

Some local authorities have their own portals working successfully, they just aren't updating the Direct.gov site - for example: Surrey

Data accuracy is the responsibility of local authorities I believe, so contact FIS and make sure their own system has the correct information, so that once the systems are working (whenever that will be) your data will be correct when available via Direct.gov.
