Childminders with twins

Do you offer a sibling discount? If I work out how much it will cost for baby twins for two mornings a week (7:30-2:30, then 7:30-12:30) it's coming to £70 a week. This seems like a lot and I don't want to scare the parent away. I also don't want to under charge. WWYD?

No sibling discount - they take as much (if not more) work than separate children & when they leave you are left with no money

ok. I was just making sure as this a family memeber and I haven't been doing this for long. Don't want to cock it up.

Do you think my price is reasonable?

Pricewise, depends what area you are in LPP. What do other childminders in your area charge? What hourly rate are you charging, can't work it out on the figure you gave (probably just me!).

I don't give discount either for siblings, couldn't afford to as they are taking up two places.

In North London where I am, fees are 5ph generally.

I don't have an hour charge because I get stupid people asking me to work one hour in the middle of the day . I charge £33 for a full day per child. Or I split the day into sessions, so 7:30-12:30 is £15.

So my thoery is £30 for both of them for the morning sessions then and additional 2 hours on the monday I'll just charge a tenner. Thats 2 mornings at £30 and £10 for the extra 2 hours = £70.

I costs around £30 for a full day in a nursery in my area (South Devon).

sound very reasonable.

fwiw I've heard of CM who charge extra for siblings as they reckon there is more risk to their finances if both get pulled out at short notice. Our CMs have never given a discount (or extra) for siblings..

Agree no discount here either I had 3 from 1 family go once it was a stonking drop in income. Try to treat these mindees as you would any other I know they are family but I often find that its better too keep things childcare wise as formal as you can.
