are you getting any time off over Xmas? I mean aside from the actual day?

I am running on empty and jsut looking longingly at the mindees advent calendar and counting down the days till I can stay in bed and recharge my batteries.

Katymac · 15/12/2009 21:34

I finish at6pm on 23rd

Then on 24th I have to pack to go on a holiday I'm not sure is happening & clear the hall, stairs & landing so they can be decorated while I might be away oh & do all the prep so when if I get back I can start work straight away on the 4th (@7:30)

Sounds like you need to cut your days or mindees.

I gave one of my mindees 4 weeks notice and finish with them next week. I felt guilty doing it but at the end of the day my sanity and family come first.

I think the BA thing has pushed me over the edge

I am getting some time off in the New Year - 2 hours once or twice a week to spend time with DD & I am passing over all the EYFS folders so I just do the business admin

Where are you (hopefully) off to Katy? That 2 hours twice a week sounds heavenly I have to say.

Scarfmaker, I've given notice to 4 families so I can rbing my working hours back under 48 a week. Hard to do but had to be done for my wellbeing.

HSMM · 15/12/2009 21:55

Good for you giving something up Katy. I have just finished for Christmas and it is such a relief (and heard I passed my OU exam today too). Give yourself a break whenever you can. You deserve it.

AvadventCalendar · 15/12/2009 21:58

I survived....lovely holiday & I returned calm and ready for anything

To be met with an undecorated hall, & about 40% non-payments

So for the parents who respect me & have enough courtesy to pay - a very big THANKS & for the others....a great big &

You really sound tired. I felt that way at times in 2009. I have four kids myself and five minded kids. I had to make some important changes as I could not continue that way. Even though the money was good i was not getting any real time for my family and myself.

Ensure that you take hols wheneve possible, dont cancel your hols if the parents want you to work. Remember everyone needs to rest.

I feel so much better for taking a amount of time off over Christmas...I was able to do paper work and also have some me time which is essential!!!
