Is anybody working on NYE?

Good friend is a nanny and has been offered some work but been told to 'name her price'. What do you think would be a reasonable hourly rate?

Ta in advance

I'm hoping to!! Depends where you are, I'm hoping to charge £10 before midnight, £15 after. I'm in the north east

If London £15 - £20 ph is not unrealistic.

Usual is £8 - £10 on a normal babysit eve so to double it is not uncommon.

eastmidlandsnightnanny · 08/12/2009 18:36

I charge triple rates just because of the date that it is and would rather be with my family and friends but will babysit if triple my normal rates.

I do normally charge double rate after midnight and on bank holidays anyway.

Its about what she is happy to work for some people would be happy with £10 an hr on NYE whereas thats my normal rate.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/12/2009 18:43

i get asked often and always say double my usual rate of £10, so £20 and parents happy to pay this

but as i dont want to work, i find them a reliable friend of mine instead who is very happy to earn lots of £

purplehat · 08/12/2009 19:21

Thanks everyone- very helpful.

She called them half an hour ago suggesting £20 per hour and they said they would like to pay her £25 per hour if she is in agreement with having a friend's 5 year old as well.

I'm almost considering working myself!

mummyofexcitedprincesses · 08/12/2009 19:37

I'm home wih my kids- maybe I should take in a few more lol.

Danthe4th · 08/12/2009 21:36

I've been offered £30 per hour to babysit from 7pm till midnight but its at least a 2 hour drive away and frankly I don't fancy driving back while everyone is enjoying themselves. So if anyone wants to do it in the new forest its theirs!!!!!

juneybean · 08/12/2009 23:18

xoxcherylxox new years eve means different things to different people. No I'm not mad
