CM question about retainers and ad hoc care

What would you do in this situation:
Say your hourly fee is £5 and as a retainer you are charging Mum £10 a day. If she asks you to do ad hoc care once in a while, would your fee be added onto the retainer fee (nope, i should think) or do you revert to your normal hourly rate?

I am thinking of reverting to a normal hourly rate with a minimum of the retainer amount - so if mum just wants me to pick up her DS and drop him at home during the retainer period, I would still charge full retainer fee. it would not make sense to revert to hourly rate.

just thinking out aloud and hoping for some direction from the Wise Ones on MN!

I would go back to standard hourly rate with the minimum you mentioned.
