School Hours & Childminders

My daughetr will start school in Septmebr 2010 having previosuly been in full time nursery care since 6 months old.

I will need before and after school care as well as Holidays.

Any tips on:

Finding a good childminder? Not sure where to start

Managing the arrangement?

Where to find one? - I live in Worcestershire and my duaghter will be attending Broadway First School

Any advice much appreciated

To find a childminder you will need to contact your local(county) Childrens or Family Information Service to get a list of childminders who cover that school.
I would also ask at the school as they may well know of childminders & be able to give you contact numbers.
Then get out & visit the childminders with & without childrren around. Also will she be attending school all day or just part days to start as that will affect whether the childminder will have a space open or not. Well worth looking from about Easter onwards as a lot of minders have a good idea then as to what school time vacancies they will have in September because of older children moving on through the school system & also when they turn 8 years old that can also free up a space for a younger child.

You havn't got many to choose from, there are only 2 in broadway, and 1 in willersey but there are more in surrounding villages.
1 in Broadway I know well and she is lovely, the other is new, I don't know her but i'm sure she also is nice, she advertises in willersey shop, i'm the other one, I do know a few in the surrounding villages. If you go on the ofsted website and put your postcode in you should get a few come up and you can match them against any lists from the council.
