Advice on holiday pay for part-time mother's help (21.5 hous pw spread over 5 days)

Hi,

I'm thinking of employing someone to help looking after my 3 young children on weekday afternoons. She's asked about holiday pay, and I'm not sure what would be applicable in her case. She'll be doing 3.5 hours on Mondays and Wednesdays, 5.15 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4 hours on Fridays -21.5 hours in total.

Does anyone know what she'd be entitled to?
Thank you.

21.5 divided by 5

Multiplied by 28

I think

So 120 hrs 24 minutes

20 days holiday = 4 weeks

21.5 hours a week

so 4 x 21.5 = 86 hours

Those would be my calculations but could be totally wrong

But I am sure holiday is now 28 days

Minimum is now 5.6 weeks. It can include Bank Holidays.

I wasn't including the bank holidays in my calculations just standard 20 days plus the 8 days bank holiday.

Thank you, that's very helpful.

If it helps, there is a holiday entitlement calculator on the BusinessLink website. I suggest you calculate the holiday in HOURS as your employee works different hours on different days.
