I am a qualified childrens nurse and night nanny in east midlands and charge £12 an hr for singles, £16 an hr for twins and £19 an hr for triplets.

If babies are sleeping through and its so parents can work ie -shifts then I charge £100 from 7pm-7am.

So anything from £8 an hr upwards but would budget around £10-£12 an hr.

I would say for London, expect to pay £10 - £15 gross for a single baby.

I work primarily in Herts and North London and charge from £15 per hour gross

I charge £120-£150 for 24 hours. Am also in South West.

Fab, I had a maternity nurse position for nearly six months. I was only sopposed to stay for 6 weeks.

However I do go to an hourly rate for nights only.

I saw an ad once - nights for a year with a family but 3 nights a week. It was triplets so I can definitely understand why the help was needed for a year.

I think it would depend whether it was live out and just coming in for nights or live in for the duration that it's pro-ratad for.

I charge about £100 for a 12 hour night with a bedroom provided so I can nap (baby/ies come in with me) as a one off. A 6 night week would be £500. But I'm not actually in the UK right now so my rates are not necessarily indicative of a city in the SW.

I generally do a 10hr night 8-6 or 9-7 so cost would be £120 per night

average wage for a trained experienced full time mn is generally about £150 per 24hrs and normally work 6 days - so a rough weekly guide would be £900 a week

so its cheaper for the parent to get a mn in 24hrs a day rther than pay a nanny daily and then mn to do nights iyswim

I wouldnt work 24hrs a day for £150, hence why i am not a full time mn

i prefer to nanny durig the day and then do nights on top - iyswim

i dont think fabs remark was rude - normally mn night positions are for 6/12 weeks age depending on when the mn starts

In 2008 i took on a MN job for 11 wks and it actually lasted 11 months full on 24/6 and at times 24/13

Here it's £70- £90 a night, and the hours are 10-7.
