Katymac · 19/08/2009 20:28

That would be no

Gosh most of my parents don't get paid that much an hour

allgonebellyup · 19/08/2009 20:33

is this to humour me????

atworknotworking · 19/08/2009 20:35

is it the DM taking the piss out of underpaid and overworked cm's

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 19/08/2009 20:37

I am not humouring you, allgonebellyup. I am curious as to whether what you are paying is the norm as I had heard it was more like £2.75-£4.50 an hour.

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 19/08/2009 20:51

I feel sorry for agbu as it sounds like her cm has really taken her for a mug and I was interested to know if anyone else is fleecing charging as much as agbu's cm is.

BrieVanDerKamp · 19/08/2009 22:09

I wish, I am CM and have never heard of anyone getting that much!!

Where do you live allgonebellyup?

nannynick · 19/08/2009 22:09

Must be London - as in Surrey/Berkshire border area it isn't that high.

BrieVanDerKamp · 20/08/2009 09:17

No I'm in surrey, not that much here

chandellina · 20/08/2009 09:22

the most expensive i've seen in London is £60/day or £6/hour. I paid £35/day for a childminder in central London (Waterloo).

sexisoneofthefoundation · 20/08/2009 09:23

Mine charges 6 pounds an hour but it is in London and in an area where there more parents in need of cm than cm in need of mindees.

gingernutlover · 20/08/2009 10:20

going rate round here seems to be £3.75-£5 per hour

I am in West Kent

alibubbles · 20/08/2009 10:46

My new minders are charging £6.25 and I do know of one who charges £7. West Herts

AvadaKedavra · 20/08/2009 15:08

£3.40PH BUT SESSION FEES APPLY FOR BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL FOR HOWEVER LONG YOU NEED IT YOU PAY THE SESSION FEE.

damn caps sorry!

Fufulina · 20/08/2009 18:43

Well - deep breath - I'm in London, and I'll be paying £9 an hour. The CM is just having my daughter and her son (3 weeks age difference) - so is more like a nanny really. It works out at £1 an hour more than the cheapest nursery in the area. That covers everything - food, nappies, days out, etc.
