Desperately trying to find a nanny asap. Have tried local agencies without any luck in South Leicestershire.

Does anyone have any tips?

How much of a hurry? I'm surprised that agencies can't at least supply a temp for a short while.

I suspect that advertising on NannyJob and Gumtree Leicester could be worth doing but it may take a few weeks.

On Gumtree, you can find work wanted ads in the wrong section - for example, the first ad listed in Nanny/Babysitters section on the Leicestershire site (right now) is an Ofsted registered Nanny looking for a nanny job - advert. Maybe worth e-mailing them, to see how soon they want to start and if you and they are in the same area. There is a Nanny/Housekeeper advertising in the Work Wanted section - advert, 32 year old with own car

Mumsnet Nannies looking for work
Alas I don't think anyone on that list is offering to work daytime in your area. However I am not fluent with what areas are close to where you live, so may be worth a look.

I found a lovely temp nanny on here earlier this year, so maybe someone might see your post? It was nice as she didn't feel like a complete stranger (history available, and some nannies know eachother already). Good luck with your search.

Hi jellywelly.
I am nanny in leicestershire, although already working for a lovely family.

Try Sam at kidsmatter.uk.com if you are not already registered with her. Sam is back from hols tonight, so I`d phone her first thing tommorrow, sure she will have a solution for you. (the only PROFESSINONAL agency in the area!)

Could you post a few more details of what you need, days, hours, ages of children, salary etc ? Someone looking might see it.

Good luck. jo

Hi jellywelly

I am also in south leicestershire and am a qualified childrens nurse and ad-hoc nanny am available after 5pm and at weekends if any help to you.

other than that I too would recommend www.kidsmatter.uk.com as 5starjo the best nanny agency in the area.

have you tried www.nannyjob.co.uk as lots of agencies just post the jobs on there anyway.

Hi sorry not great on areas up that way but are you anywhere Lincoln, as I have a nanny friend who moved back up north a few weeks ago and is looking for a job asap.

eastmidlandsnightnanny · 17/05/2009 19:00

eeyore would depend where friend is in lincolnshire if near to rutland border and orginal poster is oadby/wigston areas in south leicestershire then could be 45mins away however if either live further then could be a long way away.

jellywelly · 17/05/2009 20:52

Hi thanks for the comments, Lincoln would be too far to commute but if anyone knows of another full time nanny pls let me know.
