I charge an extra £1 an hour before 7am or after 6pm, but would waver this for a child who's hours were mainly in my core hours.

Depends what you consider to be your 'normal' working hours. I used to work 7-7 and charged double time outside this. Now I work 8-6 and charge double time outside this. However ... I do sometimes pre-arrange extra care with some lovely parents, who are really strapped for cash on a single time basis (but they know if they go over their hours without pre arranging it, they will be charged double time).

I charge £3.50 per hour (going rate near me) and £5.50 per hour between 6 - 9pm.

Weekends (try not to do it but if do it's £7.50 per hr)

Thanks everyone thats just what I wanted to know.

My cm's core hours are 7.30 to 6. She charges £8 an hours outside the core hours although she doesn't fine you if you are late collecting (I have only been late once in nearly 2 years, although I am invariably slightly early dropping off).

Thanks everyone xx I am very grateful to you for sharing as always

Oooooh! Hellywobs - early dropping off! There is loads of stuff about this on here. Please please give your childminder a chance to get dressed, have breakfast, tidy up, etc before you get there......
