Adjusting CM fees for saturdays?

Hello. The average cost in my area I THINK is anywhere between £3.50-4.50 per child during the week. I have just had an enquiry for full days on saturdays for a young toddler. I only registered last year and have only had one mindee since as I fell pregnant around the time of registration. I have 2 young children of my own (16 months and newborn - hense why I am not going to be doing much childminding, but this one day a week would suit me).

What would you charge?

I occasionally cm on a Saturday to help out one Mum. I charge the same rates actually but dont treat as a normal cm day, they just do what my kids do watch tele etc and just chill I dont do the daily diary for this day either and just take the cash..

I haven't done this yet, but would charge 1.5x my usual rate, and this would go through my books naturally. Everything I earn does (as it should).

Yes it would all go through books etc. Thats a good point about it being treated as a normal day. I am happy to do activities etc but my main concern is when we get invited places on saturdays - Family dos etc if I would still be able to go and take the child. It would always be child friendly places as I would be having my own children with me, so would to the child just be a fun day out, but not sure how a parent would see this? I guess I will just have to ask!

It wouldn't be a normal day for the child anyway... usual toddler groups etc. aren't open on a Saturday. Going on an outing/doing what you usually do would be the norm I would think? Just have to think of risk assessing and permissions needed for any travelling etc.

I charge normal rates for Saturdays, but only work them when I want to.

i charge double, as i really didnt want to work them but mum was desprate. and i take the child everywhere i would normally go so for example shopping and to visit the inlaws. mum is happy with this.
on weeks that we dont have any 'family stuff' planned we go to the zoo, local castles, sea life centre, etc. it usually works out every other week but were abou t do 3 weeks in a row, and i dont charge mum any extra for this so she sees the extra money going towards that iyswim
