Maternity cover temp nanny slagging off my job on Facebook.

The girl who's taken over my job while I'm on my maternity leave is having a right old dig at the family in her status update on FB.

I'm quite annoyed by this - I feel loyalty to my family!

What would you do? I might just have a quiet little word with the nanny. My employer's company sacked somebody while I was working for them for FB comments about the firm.

Hmmmmmmm. Not happy.

i am amazed by the number of people who slag their employers off on the WWW

not sure what you should do ... i would suggest if she isn't happy to be professional and speak to the family face to face

I'd be inclined to find out what's going on - see whether there's any reason for her griping on FB - and do as DandyLioness suggested by slipping in the bit about getting someone getting sacked and she's better of talking to the family direct.

FabulousBakerGirl · 05/05/2009 12:40

I would tell the fmaily. If you let her nknow that you have seen it she could delete it and then bad mouth you.

LittlePaws · 05/05/2009 15:00

I would tell the family

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/05/2009 19:18

my loyalty would be to the family

i would be most pissed off if someone/ a temp wrote that about my fabby employers

and tbh it is very unprofessional to gripe about work and employers on an open internet site that anyone can read

i would be tempted to copy and paste the comments and send to my employers personally

though i would be curious what she wrote and why, and i would ask her, but thats the kind of person i am

toocoldtohold · 05/05/2009 19:37

I posted on her status update "What's going on?".

I have yet to receive a reply.

I just wanted her to know that I'd seen it. I don't expect a reply or particularly want to know what's going on. I just want her to think about who reads her status updates.

either way silly cow saying those things on there where you / anyone could see them

did you find out what happened?

toocoldtohold · 08/05/2009 16:44

Apparently she was having a bad morning. Turned up after the weekend to find the house was a tip and spent two hours tidying it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/05/2009 17:12

oh i see

tbh i wouldnt have tidied up their mess

they made it, they can clear it up

just as i wouldnt leave the kids bedroom/playroom/kitchen in a mess for my mb

cheapskatemum · 08/05/2009 22:34

There is probably something in her contract about not doing that, so she is probably on shaky ground.
