Any childminders in North London - fee query help please?!?

Hi all,

I was looking at the council's list of childminders and all the fees quoted are for 2-3 year olds, so I was wondering how much extra you'd charge for an (almost) 1 year old.

Oh and would you include anything extra for the extra amount you'd charge?

thanks in advance for the help - I'm hoping all you lovely folk will save me having to call loads of childminders (before I meet with a prospective parent next week), which my DH is bugging me to do...

My CM charges £4.50/hr all in, for any age

Thanks, do you mind me asking where they're based?

I would assume it's the fee you see... all the CMs I know charge the same, no matter what the age

Some cms charge extra for school pick up/drop offs but don't know any that charge according to the age of the pre-school child - though have to say, am not in London. They may charge extra for meals/snacks/outings, but any extra charges would be written into your contract.

Hi, not sure I would be paying £70 pd but if u want to pay me that much then I won't argue lol

I charge £40 per day any age I only charge hourly when it is before/after school age then it is £7 per hr with a min of 10 hrs per week.

I am in North london (Hornsey) if that helps with fees could be the area

Hi Michelle,

lol, wow £40 pd is v cheap.

I'm in Bounds Green, so not that far but fees round here seem to be a lot higher. I'm an Early Years teacher normally and won't be taking many kids (prob only 1, plus my own baby) so plan to charge about what the nurserys/top childminders do (not saying you're not a top childminder at all, dif areas seem to have big dif in charges, maybe I mean what the most expensive cms do?).

I've got one baby provisionally signed up for 3 days a week, so fingers crossed its all good!

Having read this thread, I have realised how cheap my childminder is and made a mental note to kiss her next time I see her.

lol yh bounds green is not too far from me, I agree i know other cm that charge more than me but then atm my hrs are from 8am till 4.30 so if it is broken down it works out roughly the same i do offer longer hrs if needed and fees then reflect this but still nowhere near £70pd
