How much do you pay for your London live in?

Hello everyone
We are about to have a nanny for the first time, to look after our baby living in central London. I have no idea at all how much I should be paying her. If anyone has any experience they can share I would be very appreciative.
Thank you!

Have a look at job adverts on NannyJob. Some adverts will show salary.

How have you managed to find someone to work for you, when they don't know how much they will be paid?

Live-in work is exempt from National Minimum Wage, but is not exempt from Tax and NI. You will need to register as an employer with HMRC and operate PAYE (or Simplified PAYE if paying under £700 a month). From your nannies Gross wage, you deduct Employees Income Tax and Employees National Insurance Contributions. That then gives the NET pay your employee receives. You pay the amounts you deduct to HMRC plus Employers NI - payment to HMRC is made every 3 months. There are nanny payroll companies who can help with the payroll paperwork, for a fee. PAYEforNannies seems quite good.

Doing a quick look at the job adverts on NannyJob, there seems to be quite a range... £250 net per week to £400 net per week. There were some paying more than that, but they were for working 6+ days per week plus long hours / 24/7. I expect typical is around £300-£350 net per week (so you need to add on all taxes to that).
Salary does tend to vary a bit depending on the nannies experience. Also some jobs offer the nanny their own self-contained flat, whereas others offer a room in the house, so the accommodation on offer may affect the wage.

live in would be between £250-£350 net for a 50hr week plus an eve babysitting per week, this will obv depend on nannies quals and experience.
