Hi,

I am looking for a childminder who is fluent in both english and afrikaans to look after twins aged 1.

We are based in Tolworh, Surrey.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Afrikaans might be tricky. Isn't Dutch similar - think they can understand each other? But maybe I'm wrong on that....

have you advertised on Netmums, too?

Good luck. Hoop jy kry iemand baie gou.....

ek is in Woking maar is nie heeltemal tweetalig nie.

Dutch is similar in that if you speak Afrikaans you can understand Dutch (mostly). In Amsterdam I felt terrible... as I could understand everyone, but couldn't reply! haha But I think they could probably understand me too when I spoke Afrikaans

Good luck with finding someone Villamay!

There are South Africans serving in the British army these days-perhaps if you have an army base near you you can advertise there? Unlikely to be registered though I would have thought-they might have to come to your home instead as a Mother's help/nanny-perhaps with own child. HTH.

(Obviously I meant a wife of a serving soldier!)
