For the very first time in 17 years I will have a full time vacancy for one baby/toddler in September. I offer a very flexible service on hours and days. I have twice been graded 'outstanding' by Ofsted - once on a pilot inspection under the new EYFS. More importantly my parents and children grade me 'outstanding'. I have worked as a Support Childminder for 3 years supporting new childminders up to their first inspection.

Have you updated your information on the CIS?
Will the recent Cheshire split have any impact on how the CIS works? Will your information appear all over Cheshire, or just in half of it?

I have updated my info with the CIS, but maybe its me being stupid, when I put in CIS or Children's Information Service on my search engine, I can't find the section to find childminders available with vacancies in my area. All I get is the PDF info on how to find childcare. What am I doing wrong.

This is the first time I have had a vacancy in a lot of years and I haven't had any calls in a while. Is this usual?

I am thinking of doing a leaflet drop soon, however, a colleague of mine said this might give parents the wrong impression, you know like door to door salesmen.

I will put a poster in the local nursery and shops and see if that brings any calls, also I am sending one to the local hospital.

www.childcarelink.gov.uk found it! I was putting in Children's information service. Silly me. I'm there vacancy and all.

I'd be interested to see what you put in your flyer if that's not too cheeky. I've been thinking of doing the same. Would you mind sharing - I'm worried about coming across as a bit pushy.
