just wanted to see if anyone knew the answer to this one. work may be giving me a cheque to cover the whole of maternity leave in the next few weeks. If they do and i decide to go back to work say the beginning of october instead of the beginning of november which i planned to is ths allowed. I wont be returning to the the same employer.

My view is that whilst on Maternity Leave you are still an employee... so would need to give notice under the contract as per usual - which could mean that you need repay any over-payment made.

I would suggest that you post on Employment Issues board, you may get more responses there.
