Is it just me or does this repeat itself throughout??? Have now spent 3 nights trying to complete it as Ofsted due anytime (I know, I shuold have started it ages ago)and am sitting here feeling really thick at the moment!

I understand the need for self-evaluaton and the importance of being a 'reflective practitioner' (didn't know what one of them was until I did the DHC) but I'm really feeling like giving the whole bloody job up and going back into 'normal' employment, where someone else plans your day, pays your wages (and your taxes and NI!) and I can spend time with my family & friends instead of having an affair with my computer!!!

Need inspiration from somewhere.......

Why is it no longer enough for children and parents to be happy with the care and service we provide???

KatyMac, just read your post on the trampoline thread - what were you discussing on the BBC News last year?

Illhavethisinsize12, spoke to my cm coordinator today who met with Ofsted recently to try and find out what the hell they expect from us now in inspections. Apparently not completing the whole SEF (supposedly ) will not mean you are downgraded, but they expect to see some evidence of how you reflect on what you do, identify areas for change/improvement and what you do differently as a result - and how this 'enhances' the care and experiences of the children you look after. I'm just going to complete what I can and bugger the rest! BTW, been told to 'blow my own trumpet' when filling it in and leave it up to them to disprove what I'm saying!

KatyMac (again!), how much did they go through the SEF when you were inspected?

Whinging about EYFS being introduced.......

They spent ages reading it before she came & she quoted it to me

But I do think they were quite strict with me

SillyMillysMummy · 18/03/2009 22:35

i had my insp last week, when the insp booked it I told her that I hadnt submitted although it was written (lie ) she just sad dont worry its not mandatory anyway, just give me a copy when i get there, my mark wasnt downgraded at all. Yes KatyMacs was very very harsh imo

Illhavethisinsize12 · 21/03/2009 07:59

katmac thanks for that. why did you only grade yourself in some areas as good, my network said put outstanding everywhere!! dont know wherther i will or not.

KatyMac · 21/03/2009 09:53

Because in those 3 areas I know I am above & beyond - in the other areas there are things I need to do (some I am aware of & some I need to learn)

Of course the inspector thought different

Illhavethisinsize12 · 21/03/2009 10:03

thanks
