How long can it take a child to settle with new CM?

Curious really.
DS has never shown any upset at being apart from me or ever gone through a clingy phase (to the point where I could hand him over to a complete stranger and he'd be happy ). He's 16 months and apart from odd night away, he's pretty much been with me that whole time.
He recently started at CM, who seems fab, and DS has settled really well. It just seems odd that there is no resistance to this new routine at all? I was expecting tears, tantrums etc, but nope, arms out to CM, happy as larry. I know I am incredibly lucky if this the case, but I don't want to count my chickens until they've hatched. He's only on his second week, maybe it's too early?
Thanks

Most children settle fairly quickly with me (I'm a CM). Some of them have a wobble a bit further into their care, but on the whole, if they're treated well and kept busy, they will be happy. Some like to cry when they are dropped off, or picked up, but I would let their parents know if this continued after the door closed. Of course they will miss you, but they get to go out and play with the CM. Everyone's happy

Ds has never been upset when I've dropped him at the cm. I never just drop and dash though, maybe that's helped. Plus his cousins go there too so he's got a familiar face. But I'll always hang around for a couple of mins, he'll wander off and see what's happening, but often he'll run back to me for one last hug and kiss and then he's off again. He's a very easy going child, maybe you've got one too
