Hello all

This is the first time for me as Ive only been registered since dec and the one minded child I have is one of my friends little boy so didnt have the 'interview' sides of things!

Im excited but anxious at the same time!
Any tips I'd would be very grateful!!

Make sure you are yourself - thats what they want to see....who you are not what you can sell them

Good luck!

Also, I know this sounds obvious, but it doesn't seem to be! When I was looking for a childminder, at least one potential childminder made no effort to interact with my child. I was trying to write down things she was telling me and he was crawling around and she just ignored him! (strangly, we didn't use her!).

Be interested in the child, thats what the parents want to see!

good luck, Hope you get a new mindee.

my friend chose a nursery over the 2 local childminders (who had places) as both were very OTT with the baby (he was 3mths old when she was looking). One snatched him out of her hands and spent the whole time cuddling and coing over him and not giving my friend any of the information she needed.

she said fair enough to show him some attention but she was worried they would spend all day cuddling him!!
