Poor nanny gave birth very early - desperately need to find her replacement

My lovely nanny gave birth to a baby girl this week at 25 weeks. It is going to be a tough time for her and her little one. So, the maternity leave I needed to cover in May has now started ! If anyone knows a good nanny who could look after my DCs (6 and 4) in Amersham, Bucks, please let me know! I need 8-7, Tues, Wed and Friday, with the possibility of some hours on Thursdays.
Thank you!

Hi its probably not much help at all but I am available w/c 6th April just for that one week (I'm a teacher and it will be the Easter hols). I would possibly need to be able to stay over though as I am 2hrs away from you

what a nightmare for you and your nanny - how is the prem bubba?

have you tried local agencies-exp but gen they have temp nannies, all crb checked and ready to start possibly same/nextday

also put up an ad on nannyjob or netmums

Baby is doing ok so far, thank goodness, but it is a bit scary as she is so early. I've already contacted some local agencies (who were already looking for me for May!)and hopefully that will work, but I wondered whether anyone happened to know of someone. I will try nannyjob and netmums too - thanks BHMF.

did you find anyone jojobingo?

hows nanny and baby doing now?

AtheneNoctua · 03/03/2009 09:35

You might want to ring local childminders for immediate availablility. You could then spend a few weeks sorting out a nanny calmy -- as opposed to the crisis you now find yourself sorting out.

Poor nanny. And poor little baby. Do you know what happened? My nephew was very premature. He is 10 now and has no health or developmental problems. So hopefully this story will have a happy ending for your nanny.

Hi everyone. We have found a lovely temp to cover now and that's going well. My nanny's baby is doing OK and making good progress. Thanks for all your messages of help and support
