I'm so glad it's Friday. Guests coming, mindees here and DDs dentist appointment at 1200. Why do I do this to myself?! I'm aiming for pancakes later too. DD can cook them and I can drink tea chat to guests play with mindees

mumsanutter · 20/02/2009 07:55

No4 - isn't dh off? Can't he pick it up for you?

Shoshe - I agree longest half term.

The mums house is off today and extremely quite, I am 2 sons down they stayed at friends last night. So I am taking the little ones out this am, will then visit a friend for coffee before collecting the boys. I suppose I had better get them back, haven't seen ds2 since wednesday am!!

Numberfour · 20/02/2009 08:13

mums, DH is off to work today. but he said that he will be home early. my children finish at 3pm so an early start to the weekend for me!!

coolj · 20/02/2009 09:52

Good morning everyone. Ive had a lovely week. We have visited the Wildlife park, been to a fantastic museum and today, Ive no mindees, just my youngest and a German student who is staying with us. We are going to Muncaster castle.

So once I get off MN, get ready and dressed, we will be off.

I agree with you Shoshe, it has been a long week. My older boys have gone to stay with family so the house has been really quiet without their constant bickering, bliss .

SammyK · 20/02/2009 09:56

Morning everyone.

We have had a chill out week, pootled around at home and the library, the usual really just without the school runs.

My fostering application is picking up speed, very intense process but hopefully will be worth it. Can't cm much longer, for reason given on the ofsted obsessed thread!

Hope everyone has a good weekend

mumlove · 20/02/2009 12:30

Afternoon everyone.

Well the fog here has finally lifted and the sun is now shining .
Have made choc chip cake with DD so have put some on the table for you all (please excuse all the choc chips at the bottom of cake as they always do that )

Does anyone know where I can find a reciepe for peppermint creams as want to make them with mindees for mothers day.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

nomoreamover · 20/02/2009 12:46

mum love i cheat and use ready to roll fondant icing and peppermint essence....

They taste yummy! And its easy for the teeny tinys to do

PinkChick · 20/02/2009 13:55

HI all ..we've been making cakes with ready to shape coloured icing today as well, mindees third birthday next week but she only comes here one day.

however she has just had her first(here anyway) and completely massive tatrum because the baby wanted to hold a toy she was goading her with so i told her if she didnt want to share it would have to go in her bag..she screamed, hit, flung, cried, she went completely balistic!..NEVER seen her like this before and had her nearly 2years!

too make my day better im awaiting news from part time mum about wether she is being made redundant..shes in meeting now

PinkChick · 20/02/2009 13:59

Here we are. Cakes.

Shoshe · 20/02/2009 14:38

hehe Mo stop doing movie quizzes and do some work.

WE ARE NOT MOVING!!!!!

Well not for a couple more years, DH has finally made a decision on the job offer and has decided to stay with the Army and do MPGS, which is the Camp Guards.

At least till the recession bottoms out, So I don't have to move again this year [phew]

I'm bored!!! I've done all my jobs and I'm waiting for my Aunt & Uncle to arrive from The Wallops! They are notoriously late for things though, so although they said 3pm, it could be 4 or 5!

MaureenMLove · 20/02/2009 14:40

Totally ramdom, but shall I book a holiday to Egypt this afternoon? For August? Good or bad idea?

Shoshe · 20/02/2009 14:42

Have you done the loong quiz, cant remember what it was called but it had 100 questions, i got bored half way through

I havnt been up to the Wallops for a while must take Father really, maybe at Easter.

Shoshe · 20/02/2009 14:47

i have always wanted to go to Egypt. But I also want to go to Israel, so i need to look into which country wont let you in with the other ones stamp on you passport.

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 20/02/2009 14:50

Hmm. Egypt possibly isn't the safest place to be right now, but we were looking at a holiday village type place, where you don't need to go off site at all. Great for DH and DD to do scubadiving too.

Numberfour · 20/02/2009 14:50

this thread is getting really weird! Shoshe gives us her news and then Maureen replies with "I'm bored!"

Must be great not to have to move. i know it is a pita. we have been in our house (rented) for 4yr6m and I am very keen to move. We just cannot afford it.

Egypt in Aug sounds damn sight better than Woking in Feb..................

MaureenMLove · 20/02/2009 14:52

Yeah, sorry No4, I've rather hijacked the CM Staff Room. I did bring cakes though and I am a very old member of the club, allbeit retired from CMing!
