p/t nanny and BH question

If i make my nanny take the BH out of her (5.6 times normal days work) holiday entitlement this will mean that she has 11 days holiday left this year.
This doesn't seem so much- there are 8 BHs this yr and we work p/t mon, tue and fri.. so all of them are covered this yr!

i also want her to coincide our hols with hers if poss, so in the contract have written 1/2 of the remaining 11 days to be taken whn we take ours.
but it all seems a bit restrictive, and I'm worried it sounds a bit tight.
i can't afford much else tbh.
I don't earn alot more than her during the holidays as she has both kids 10 hrs when they are off school. during school hours she works doing just after school care so it's affordable then.
grrrrr, i don't want to be mean, but I have to survive too.

TIA
going to put this in nanny section too so can get both sides' opinion

So does she have more than the legal minimum holiday entitlement? I thought it was 4.8?

Your nanny works 3 days per week... so if:
In England, Leave Period Starts 1st Jan 2009, then in leave period 1 Jan 09 - 31 Dec 09 they get 16.3 days annual leave, which CAN include Bank Holidays.

In a previous job I had to take holidays whenever possible (so holidays rather than attending a funeral), during school holidays. Employers can dictate to employees when they can and can't take holiday.

I'd suggest rounding up the holiday to be complete days... so probably 17 days per year.

It is up the nanny and the employer to negotiate the terms of the contract. You may find that nannies want the job so much that they will accept almost any terms you put in. While other nannies will have their own requirements and not want to be told when they can/can't take holiday.

As of April this year the holiday entiltlement goes up to 5.6 times the working week.
She worked for a bit before xmas as a temp and i've stuck her hol days onto this year too- she didn't take any holiday.

I just wanted a sound out place to see if it was felt i was being mean by disctating that all the BH are taken as holiday and on top of that ask her to take hols when we do too-

otherwise it'll bankrupt me!!

thanks for your help- i'll have to talk to her... just want to start out from a position where i seem resaonable.
If she saw the state of our finances I reckon she'd loan me soome money!
