Hi, am starting to think about a childminder for my DS, at this stage I will be returning to work late April/early May and he will be 8 months. I wouldnt mind starting him off beforehand so we can both get used to it!! Both my DP and I work at schools in the locality so it would basically be school hours...perhaps an hour or 2 on top and for 3 days a week (to be confirmed). I would like to know prices/ have a scout around if anyone can help or advise...many thanks.

Have you tried www.childcarelink.gov.uk?

I am in Uxbridge so not too far from you. Prices here are around £4 per hour ISH. Really varies and will depend on if the childminder provides food, nappies etc. If you contact the children's information service, they will be more help then anybody else. I would make sure you check surounding bourghs too (I actually come under buckinghamshire in which case wouldn't come up with any hillingdon/middlesex search but I am actually a 10 min walk from Uxbridge town centre - which is hillingdon bourgh!
