help help desperate for a childminder crystal palace

hello hello, I am new to mumsnet and need some help...my daughter has been transferred to an awful school - to a much nicer new one - the problem being that I no longer have a way of looking after her before and after school, I would rather she went to a childminder - she is only 5 - and was in a 'home' environment, so my preference is before and after school. But if I can't get after school I am really desperate for before, am a single parent so I have been juggling pick ups and drop off with my mum and hoping my work wil be sympathertic. But am desperate.
Can anyone help? or know anyone that can - have tried traditional routes through council etc

hello again to butterfly fairy I was wondering whether the school was suitable at all for you, or whether you knew it?

Hi, yes she is up towards Fox On The Hill pub up Denmark Hill. Not too far from you?

clairebean · 11/02/2009 20:59

have checked on the map - think its to far with morning traffic etc - about 5 miles away and will be a 45 min round trip in the rush hour for me back to work. Such a shame. Thankyou so much for helping though. I will just have to keep looking

hi claire
have you looked on the Bromley Childminders website? they have a find a childminder section and theres a section for crystal palace? You could also ask te school directly if they know any CMs who collect from the school or if they will put a card out for you?

clairebean · 12/02/2009 01:26

have tried all of the above - no vacancies anywhere! am tearing my hair out!
Thank you though

try on Netmums and www.childmindinghelp.co.uk/forum

ButterflyFairy · 12/02/2009 11:41

Hiya, sorry for delay in getting back. It's too far for me as well. Netmums are a good idea, or look at the BCMA (Bromley Chilminding Assoc) site as plenty of cms advertise on there as well.

Good luck in your search.

Trying to contact usedtoreadbooks - about your CM near Fox on Hill in Denmark Hill - I have just moved to this area and would like to contact your CM to see if she has any space for my 2 year old.

I used to be a cm in crystal palace and most of the cm's I knew went to the Peter pan playgroup next to Sainsburys. If you pop in there on a Tuesday or Friday morning and ask the person at the sign in to point out the cm's to you someone may be able to help? Presume you've tried Childcare.co.uk and the school itself?
