Foreign nannies with children of their own back home - are they employed in the UK?

On another forum with predominantly US/Canadian participants we were discussing the phenomenon of foreign nannies who have children of their own in their home countries. Apparently it's really common over there.

I've never heard of this in the UK, and so I was just wondering if any of you know people who employ nannies who've left children of their own back home to come to the UK. My perception of foreign nannies in the UK is somehow that they're mostly single (or with partners/families in the UK too).

I know that a lot of foreign male workers have children back at home, though. And I know that a lot of Ukrainian children, for example, are brought up by grandparents because both parents are working abroad.

If someone is coming to the UK to work under the Tier5 Youth Mobility Scheme... then they are not able to do so if they have dependants under the age of 18 - see here.

If they are from the EEA then I don't think there is a restriction.

I know someone who employed a nanny who already had children back home in the Philippines (sp?)
