i heard from a variety of people that it was a good idea to use Nannyjob (£20 for an ad) or Gumtree (free). So I used both.

Have not yet interviewed any of my applicants, but thus far, am finding Nannyjob applicants better-qualified, although naturally they therefore expect a higher salary.

I should have thought that there are other places to look that might yield my dream nanny - please let me know if I'm missing an obvious trick here.

why dont you want to use an agency? worked v v well for me. just interested to know why you wouldnt want to register with one?

nowwearefour - id rather speak to the family myself rather than have interviews arranged for me. many agency you speak to them first.
