CM maternity cover - what kind of contract?

I'm about to do contracts for approx an 8 week period to cover another CMs maternity leave (may be longer but can't be sure yet).

I was thinking of using short term contracts but it says they're for a max of 28 days.

Two of the children are before school only for just 2 days, the other is under 5 attending nusery half days, so only 2 half days there really.

Any advice on which I should use??

as it may be longer i would use the normal contract rather than the short term one, then you have the option of extending rather than filling in a new contract.
