Do you use a any kind payroll service to take care of wages/tax etc? Ive found a site of the internet who do it all for you and they want £195 per annum, does that sound about right? Thanks

PAYEfornannies charge £115 pa fopr the basic (perfectly adequate) servioce and are very helpful; I've been using them for 2 yeatrs and have no complaibnts! With the £75 back from the inland revenue for filing electrovnicall(which the service handles for you) this is pretty cost-effective!

Sorry re cod-esque typing...

I've had lots of problems with nannypaye so I don't recommend them anymore. I think payefornannies is one of the cheaper ones.

Millarkie - how do you do it then? Sorry - really naive with things like this - can you just do it yourself then? Is this a lot of hassle?

we do it ourselves. take dh about 30 mins once a month once the initial hassly bit had been sorted out. it is free so nice and cheap ! happy to ask him to post how he does it or at least a link to the right site once he reappears home later if you like

PAYEforNannies seems to be Ok from a nannies point of view. My monthly wage slips arrive on time.

If doing it yourself and you haven't started doing it yet... then read P49 which talks you through doing the first payroll run.
