Happy New Year to you all.

Have an excited 3 year old and a not bothered yet 1 year old up here as it has snowed over night. The snow has served as a good distraction as dh has left at 5.30 this am to go to New York.

I am up and ready for mindee to come at 8am but still need to sort out a few bits for DD.

Off to CM drop in this morning and I have a PP comming this evening about full time care so please keep your fingers crossed.

Morning All- Happy New Year! First day back today after Xmas- feeling all beginning of termish! Snowed here overnight so will wrap them up and head off to the park.

Ist working day since xmas eve. My kids have an inset day, so have 5 all day. Had snow overnight, so will be a cold one.

I am giving all of my parents notice today. The need to tell DP I am leaving him. GULP.

I'm back from holiday.....not very refreshed - just knackered

I had another child give notice today - which seems so much better than getting it the week before Christmas

Morning all! Brrrrrrrrr it's cold! Served well though when dd didn't want to go to school but was fine when we had to walk in it!

One mindee this am and then another to pick up after first day at preschool! Off to docs as have no hearing in my right ear and otex has done nothing and its starting to hurt so wondering if it's an infection! Mindee coming with me!

Think we might make snowflakes today given the weather! Any other snow based (easy for a 2 year old) ideas?

Sorry about your situation Sammy. I hope the parents are understanding and that it goes ok when you tell dp.

A quick question for everyone:

Would you take your mindees to a local church cafe with a few other minders and mindees?

I thought it would be good for social skills and table manners but someone on another thread has objected to it so thought I would ask you ladies.

FWIW, the kids really seem to enjoy choosing their own food and asking the waitress themselves.

What do you think?

7 little darlings today (2 over 8s). Managed to get them to play football in the snow for half an hour this morning. Now we are all having a warm drink and turning the heating up. Decided not to go to toddlers, as the 4 x age 6+ thought it was a bad idea!!! Never mind. It's a great hourly rate and they're all back at school tomorrow.

Thanks everyone, I have to keep telling myslf I will be ok in the end.

I have a mindee's older sibling here today and she is SO LOUD DP is in bed after a night shift and will be less than happy. She is not playing loudly or running around she is talking at the top of her voice with every word. Sigh.

lucy its a great idea, we take the mindees to the local small airstrip (they have a cafe) th kids love it, and it improves their social skills no end,

I had 3 mindees all day today as well as my 3DC and a lovely German student who came yesterday to stay for a couple of months.

So I had a nice full house today .

well i had a great day today and it served to remind me what childminding is all about! three kids having a whale of a time playing together happily - all of us playing with play dough, playing hide and seek and going out for a lovely but walk through the muddy but frozen woodland to look at the frozen lake!
No cross words - no whining - BLISS
and to top it all i got paid a decent wage and ds was fast asleep minutes after being put to bed!
