Need to take time off for morning sickness - feeling guilty.

I thought I'd be able to work through it but it's getting much worse. Doc has prescribed me something - took one this morning and it did nothing.

I'm feeling so guilty about having to have time off. The parents don't know I'm pregnant so I'll have to give them that news as well as the fact I can't work.

I'm not sure how much time I'll need. I don't think it's peaked yet.

Not sure why I'm posting this but hey ho!

don't want to scare you but when I was pregbant, both times I had morning sickness for 5 months, well not really morning sickness, more like all day and all night sickness, I used to spend most days in bed, was sick up tp 20 times a day and couldn't eat or drink anything, this was despite being on tablets from the docs, I was losing weight not gaining and even turning over in bed would make me throw up. You MUST tell your employer, your baby is the important one now. Good luck

Seriously...my sympathies, I had it bad with both my pregnancies. I think you are posting to see what peoples thoughts are well heres mine...its difficult with the personal job we do, we work when we are ill but I think this is one instance where if you need time off you should take it. Your little baby comes first! MS is awful, I couldn't be bothered to wash my own hair and the house was a tip for weeks! Phone and speak to the parents some may have family to help, even if you have reduced numbers to get you through.

Hope you feel better soon and congrats x

Thanks. I just hate letting people down - I'm not sure I can get cover for all the children.

surely its the parents responsibility to arrange car for their children? not yours?

Picante · 03/01/2009 16:20

Well I've managed to get cover for all but one. Don't feel quite so guilty now.

Oh Picante, I had awful ms with both of mine when cm'ing. It really is hell, the only way i got through is by laying on my bed perfectly still, while the kids napped in the afternoon, i was lucky that they all slept at the same time. It was pure hell and I did have to take one or two days off after particularly bad episodes. Being pregnant while cm is really hard, dont feel bad if you have to take time off, it is hard letting people down, but at the end of the day you cant care for small children so well if you are running off to be sick and feeling terrible! Hope it passes soon
