Have sent a letter to a parent saying outstandin fees must be paid befrore i have child back after xmas hols, will be owed 6 weeks money by then now feel bad and i dont know why i really need the money x

Umm you need the money because you earnt it & it's bad to encourage people into debt

Don't feel bad - would they go shopping in Asda and tell the staff they'll be back in 6 weeks to pay for it? You've done the right thing.

Thank you, just feel a bit mean doing it 2 days before xmas but i had my 2 childrens birthday parties at the weekend and my car went wrong last week costing me 300 quid so i am a bit skint atm

Doesnt matter whether you are skint or not, you have done the work and they should pay you.

May also be a good opportunity to agree a new contract, whereby they pay in advance for all childcare.

I usually do get paid in advance made an exception as parent was returning to work and i understand money is tight but am wishing i hadnt now why is it when you try to help someone they take advantage of you?

You may have to do a thing whereby each pay day she pays 1.2 times her fee then over 5 pay days she is in advance (does that make sense?)

You have definately done the right thing! Hope you get it sorted, and why are you feeling bad? Parent has left you short just before xmas!
